What’s with the name?
JanaiBlog is run and maintained by Jon Ingoglia, commonly shortened to “Jon I.” which is phonetically similar to “Janai,” the Japanese word for “is not.” There’s no real meaning to the name beyond that, it’s just an interesting pun that rolls off the tongue nicely.

For anime & manga reviews, our rating system is designed to focus around overall enjoyment, and works as such:
- Enjoyment – How much fun the author had watching/reading the series
- Recommendation Value – How likely the author is to suggest the series to someone else
- Rewatch/Reread Value – How likely the author is to rewatch/reread the series
